Purim here is really something special. Today wasn't Purim yet, but, like
national holidays in the U.S. – actually, even more so – Purim gets
spread out here to several days. The ganim and schools celebrate practically
all week. Raanana's city parade was today (Friday makes the most sense for a
parade as most everyone's off of work) and it was really really fun.
It's not just role reversal here – being in the majority instead of the minority when celebrating our chagim – it's more than that, because it's not just that the majority of people celebrate Purim. EVERYONE celebrates Purim. It's nothing short of AMAZING. Walking around town, driving around, shopping, going to work ... Purim is everywhere. It's Everyone's holiday. I've got a whole bunch of pictures, and I think that putting these all on one page is not a good idea. At the very least for the sake of anyone viewing the page over a dialup modem, I'm breaking these up into a couple of somewhat reasonably sized sub-pages. Enjoy! |
