Tel Mond Dragons Destroy the Opposition
Friday, June 30, 2006

The Tel Mond Dragons dealt a crushing defeat to their guests, the Alte Kakers of Chul. This game took place in the sweltering heat of central Israel's summer, but the Dragons kept their spirits high and their play energetic.

"We had a real friendly first couple of innings, where we were keeping things light and fun. It was cute to watch the old folks getting all excited every time they made contact with the ball, and they sure can use the exercise, so there was no harm in letting them run the bases a little bit," says the Dragons' first baseman. "Once we got to the bottom of the fifth, though, things were starting to drag out, so we figured we'd better start wrapping the game up. I got the nod from Coach, and, well, it was pretty quick from there."

The Dragons are modest enough not to mention the final score, but for fans keeping track, 19-3 put the Altes in their place. I don't imagine we'll be seeing a rematch until they've all gotten out of traction.
